Bagged leaves, grass clippings, branches and trimmings are collected year-round by the Streets Department on Monday mornings. Please place bags at the curb by Sunday night for Monday morning collection. It must be in biodegradable yard waste bags which are available at local hardware stores; filled bags cannot weigh more than 30 lbs. The Borough will NOT collect loose grass clippings placed in containers. Do not mix trash, rocks, or mulch with yard waste.
All shrubbery and tree trimmings need to be bundled, tied together, should not exceed a length of four (4) feet and be easy for one person to pick up. Place at curbside for collection. Please be sure to keep separate from the regular trash.
The yard waste material is not collected with the trash or recycling; it is a separate pickup and disposed of at our compost facility.
The Borough does provide a fall leaf vacuum collection program which occurs October 15th through December 12th.
Burning in the Borough is Prohibited
At their October 8, 2024 public meeting, Borough Council enacted an Ordinance prohibiting open burning of refuse and yard waste which takes effect immediately (Burning Ordinance 573)
