Community Outreach

The Chester County Human Services Department provides Chester County residents with services for the aging, children, you and families, community development, community transit, drug & alcohol, managed behavioral healthcare, mental health/intellectual & development disabilities, veterans affairs and youth/juvenile center programs.

Community Warehouse Project of Chester County is a local furniture bank that collects gently used furniture and housewares and then distributes these items to families, individuals, and veterans in need throughout Chester County. Our clients are referred to us by over 90 social service agencies throughout the area. We served 486 Chester County households last year. We believe that providing important furniture helps to transform an empty house into a home creating a stable environment for families and individuals to thrive.  Please consider donating your unwanted items to our program instead of putting them out for bulk trash. This is a way to recycle perfectly usable items instead of going to the landfill. By recycling unwanted furniture items to needy families and veterans, we estimate that we are saving 250 Tons of furniture from landfills each year.

Spring-Ford Project Outreach is a cooperative ministry of Christian churches which provides community outreach, emergency assistance services, and other programs for those in need in the Spring-Ford area. The Spring-Ford Rotary Club is part of Rotary International and is the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self. While we are constantly working on projects to help our community, our larger signature events include the Annual Pancake Breakfast Buffet and our annual Adopt-A-Family program, both of which help numerous local organizations and families. We are very proud of the positive impact that the Spring-Ford Rotary Club continues to make our community a better place to live and work.
